Description

A Demon is a type of fiend, descendent from the original offspring of the fallen and evil deities, with access to powerful supernatural abilities and who also lacks a human soul. All demons have monstrous visages though many of them use human guises to assimilate themselves into mundane society. This allows them to corrupt mankind from within. While demons do lack a human soul, and therefore the potential of having a moral conscience, most, if not all, do possess a similar spiritual counterpart known as dark spirits or essences.

In the Valiantverse demons are categorized as the amoral, soulless, and evil beings that wield dark powers to spread evil, sadness, fear, distrust, loss of hope and death among humans on earth. They are choatic by nature and have no respect for rules, or the lives of others. Their primary concern is their own desires, which are typically selfish and cruel. Their physical prowess is innately more powerful than humans, equal to that of the lesser angels.

Currently, demons are the most widespread malevolent creature; outnumbering all of the other evil races. The majority of lower level demons left behind on earth typically do not follow a hierarchy, giving in to their choatic nature. However, they will answer to higher ranking demons on earth who serve the leaders of Hell out of fear.

Rephaim

Throughout history a number of demon races have interbred with humans; creating half-breeds known as half-demons who are historically known as rephaim. Half-demons are akin to humans, as they can possess a human soul and a moral conscience, but their soul has a great chance of being corrupted by the dark heritage and abilities from their demonic half. Rephaim who fight their demon ancenstry and embrace their human side try to live peacefully among full humans while hiding their dual heritage from the mundane.

The physical characteristics of half-demons tend to vary, however, the more human they are in appearance the less amoral they tend to be. Most of these rephaim simply appear human in form with minor demonic traits such as enhanced strength and speed, unique natural eye or hair colors, talons on their hands, or sometimes psychic abilities.

Experience Points

Within the Valiantverse quite a few starting characters could enter the game as a rephiam, but never as a full-blooded demon. In fact, full-blooded demons are generally staffed played characters. However, in some instances, veteran members can be chosen to play a full-blooded demon to help fulfill plot requirements. Demons of all types join the game with an Experience Points starting count of Experience Points: 50.
