MYTHOLOGY
Character Types -> Immortal Races -> Deity
Description
A Deity is a type of primeval creature, or higher being, that is more powerful and more dangerous than any spirit, demon or undead. These beings were among the first sentient inhabitants of the earth dimension. There are two main factions of deities: good aligned deities who are more lawful in nature and evil aligned deities who are more choatic. Before the First Reckoning the good deities left the earth dimension when they became outnumbered. The evil deities were later banished to the Hell dimensions alongside the fallen angels as a result of the First Reckoning.

The physical features of all deities vary greatly; as most have multiple physical forms that resemble a number of creatures found within the earth dimension and other alien worlds. In the past, a deity would take on a human visage when dealing with mortals. All deities possess supreme physcial traits, but only those with a flock of worshipers possess extra mystical powers.

Good Aligned Deities
Those that survived the Second Reckoning reside within the Forgotten Realm and watch over the earth dimension from the safety of their home world. The majority of the good deities still in existence are those still worshiped via the varying witch traditions still practiced by humans. The others are deities worshiped among lingering religions which have not been replaced by Christianity.

The remaining good deities will rarely, if ever, return to the earth dimension. Instead they choose to act through human conduits; who are, more often than not, one of their worshipers whom they have blessed with psychic or occult powers.

Moral Code
Not all good aligned deities are benevolently wholesome. While the good alignment deities champion a respect for all of life, whether it be planetary, human or ethereal, there are some among their class who will often make decisions and employ actions where the ends justify the means. When called to, they will often sacrifice life in order to preserve it. This usually stems from the rare good aligned deities who are choatic or neutral in their actions and beliefs. The majority of good deities maintain a respect for life, and a concern for the persavation of all living creatures.

Evil Aligned Deities
During their own war with the good aligned deities, a massive army of winged creatures fell from the sky. The deities populating earth were soon introduced to the fallen and learned of the war that brought them to their world. The fallen quickly allied themselves with the more sinister of the deity races. It wasn't long before courtships formed between the two races, and from their union spawned the earliest forms of demon. With the fallen angels, and their shared dark offspring, the evil deities were finally able to overpower their adversaries.

Their triumph was short-lived, and soon the enemies of the fallen had come down to earth and waged war on them all. After an embittered battle, the evil deities, their allies and their demon spawn had all been banished into the Hell dimensions and sealed away for all eternity. Til this day, the surviving evil deities, along with the remaining fallen, are plotting their return to the earth dimension and the defeat of the human race.

Moral Code
Like the good deities, there is a complexity among the evil aligned deities, who are not all supremely evil. Some dark deties have rules against killing the innocent unnecessarily. Only ending a life when it is beneficial to a particular cause. This, however, is only relegated to the rarely seen neutral or lawful evil deities. Most evil deities enjoy harming, oppressing, and killing others.

Experience Points
Because of the magnitude of their power, starting characters do not enter the game as deities. In fact, deities are generally staffed played characters. However, in some instances, veteran members can be chosen to play a deity to help fulfill plot requirements. Deities of all types have an Experience Points base count of Experience Points: 100.
