Description

Occult powers are supernatural abilities that manifest in those who practice witchcraft. It is not uncommon for witches to be born with an occult power. Those who embrace the Craft later in life, usually develop an occult power when they advance to Strength: Level Two, but not always. Occult powers tend to be earth and elemental based; although the rare witch has been known to develop a pyschic ability. Below is a list of occult powers expressed by characters within Only After Nightfall.

List of Occult Powers

Earth Manipulation	The witch who develops this ability gains a deep connection with the Earth itself; allowing the user the ability to control earth; sand, stone, rock, lava, dirt, or other minerals. Advanced earth manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of earth minerals. Witches with centered and controlled personalities tend to develop earth based powers.
Electricity Manipulation	The power to control and generate electric fields into potent bolts of electricity. A witch who has a strong and independent personality tends to develop this power. Advanced electric manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of electrical energy.
Fire and Heat Manipulation	The ability to control the kinetic energy of atoms to generate or control fire. A witch who has a quick-tempered personality or possesses an untameable spirit tends to develop this power. Advanced fire manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of fire; often called salamanders.
Shadow Manipulation	Power to create or manipulate darkness, often by mentally accessing a dimension of dark energy. Advanced shadow manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of dark energy. Witches with secretive or introverted personalities tend to develop this power.
Water Manipulation	The ability to control and generate water. Witches who have an optimistic, cheerful, or generally positive personality tend to develop this power. Advanced water manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of water particles.
Wind Manipulation	The power to control and generate wind. A witch who has a strong affinity for the creative arts or intellectual development or who are emotionally driven tend to develop this power. Advanced wind manipulation allows for the creation of familiars made of intangible kinetic energy.
