Description
An Angel is a type of celestial being of a good alignment and are native to any of the Elevated Planes. All angels are believed to be guardians of mankind and messengers of God. Those of their kind that enter the earth dimension do so to guide or protect the humans populating the world. Therefore, this breed of celestial are often called Guardian Angels.

In the Valiantverse the abilities and physical features of angels are widely varied and many seem able to alter their appearance at will, but most favor beautiful humanoid forms with large, birdlike wings growing from their backs. They are immortal and do not age. Most angels seem to have varying degrees of superhuman strength, and can speak with any creature that has a language. They can also make themselves invisible to humans, although rare psychics may still see them.

Human souls who ascend to the Elevated Planes after death are given the opportunity to evolve from immortal soul to divine creature. If this offer is accepted, after extensive training, they then become a Guardian Angel for the rest of human kind.

Nephilim
Throughout history, when Guardian Angels have been tasked with coming down to the earth dimension, there have been some among their ranks who have interbred with humans; creating half-breeds known as half-angels who are historically known as nephilim. Half-angels are known as exteremely positive people, and are generally Called to take up causes that fight for the greater good of humanity. The majority of nephilim live peacefully among full humans while hiding their dual heritage from the mundane.

The physical characteristics of half-angels tend to vary, however, they are generally revered as unearthly beautiful people. Most of these nephilim simply appear human in form with minor angelic traits such as enhanced strength, unique natural eye or hair colors, advanced healing, and sometimes psychic abilities.

Experience Points
Within the Valiantverse quite a few starting characters could enter the game as a nephilim, but never as a full-blooded angel. In fact, full-blooded angels are generally staffed played characters. However, in some instances, veteran members can be chosen to play a full-blooded angel to help fulfill plot requirements. Angels of all types join the game with an Experience Points starting count of Experience Points: 50.
