Avatars & Signature Banners

Yes, you're allowed to have both avatars and signature banners (they're just downright cool!). However, we ask that you keep the dimensions of both to a certain limit.

All avatars are to be no larger than 120x150 pixels. All signature banners must have dimensions no more than 70,000 pixels.

Double Posting

Double posting is NOT allowed in any of the character forums or sub-forums; i,e MODES OF TRANSPORTATION, RESDENTIAL AREA, THE CITY and TOWN OUTSKIRTS. If everyone didn't post until a character responded to their character, everything would run much more smoothly. For one there wouldn't be an unneccesary bulk of posts to read through when searching for a particular post from a certain character.

There are exceptions to this rule. Double posting may occur in two places and in two places only...
· In a character's private journal
· In a character's bedroom

If double posting occurs anywhere else the players of the said character will be asked to delete their extraneous posts.

Meta-gaming

Meta-gaming is tolerated in no way, shape or form here. It's immature, annoying and downright rude. What is meta-gaming, you ask? Well, there are several variations of meta-gaming, but at it's core it's god-like behavior on the part of a player.

Controlling the characters of others

Writing actions for another character, other than your own, is the HIGHEST FORM of meta-gaming. Whether or not you have the consent of that character's player, it's not tolerated. You're able to note the actions of another character, as made by their player, but that's as far as it goes. Walking, talking, moving - every single action, down to facial expessions - must be posted by the player of the said character.

COMBAT

When engaged in combat, you're not allowed to post your character's blow as landing. You're to post their blow as being thrown, but nothing more. This makes combat more fair and much more fun for all involved parties. For example...

QUOTE
EX
: Buffy raises her fists and snaps a kick at Faith's upper-torso.

Now Faith has the freedom to do any of the following-
· Block the blow.
· Dodge the blow.
· Counter the blow.
· Accept the blow.

Creating non-player characters

You're not allowed to create non-player characters (NPC's) for your character to interact with. This defeats the purpose of NPC's to begin with. They're excellent resources with invaluable information, which the Admin are responsible for conjuring in the first place. Really, there's no point to creating your own NPC's. They cannot help your character progress in your story. So just ... don't.

Spell, talisman and enchanted weapon results

Again, just DON'T. You may post your character as performing spells or attempting to activate either talismans or enchanted weapons, but that's all. THE POWERS THAT BE give confirmation posts of the results.

Posting Format

I. PRESENT TENSE

Posts here are written in the present tense, being that much of the action is happening in 'real time'. This gives the game a sharp, fresh feel that causes the scenes to move at a dilligent pace. The use of past tense should be used solely when characters are reflecting on things they have already done.

QUOTE
EX
: The patrol was highly successful. He and Buffy had stumbled upon a nest practically swarming with vampires. Giles smiles wanly.

II. ENTERING/EXITING

When entering or exiting a room, the past location or future destination of your character must be put in bold. This makes it easier for readers to track the on-goings of your character.

QUOTE
EX
: The patrol was highly successful. He and Buffy had stumbled upon a nest practically swarming with vampires. Giles smiles wanly, making his departure from the Living Room and disappearing into the Kitchen.

If you're not sure where your character is heading next then it's perfectly excusable to post "...elsewhere" as their destination.

QUOTE
EX
: The patrol was highly successful. He and Buffy had stumbled upon a nest practically swarming with vampires. Giles smiles wanly, making his departure from the Living Room and heading elsewhere.

III. THOUGHTS

Thoughts are incoporated into the posts here. However, the thoughts are made recognizable by the use of either (parenthesis) or italicized text.

QUOTE
EX
: The patrol was highly successful. He and Buffy had stumbled upon a nest practically swarming with vampires. (That spot of tea should be warm about now...) Giles smiles wanly at the thought, making his departure from the Living Room and disappearing into the Kitchen.

IV. SOUND EFFECTS

Sound effects are incoporated into the posts through the use of asterisk (*).

Posting Out of Character

You're not allowed to post out of character in any of the character forums or sub-forums; i.e MODES OF TRANSPORTATION, RESDENTIAL AREA, THE CITY and TOWN OUTSKIRTS. The out of character forums are for all off-topic chatter.

If a player makes OOC comments in a character post then the post will merely be edited and the said player will recieve a warning.
